“There was a girl at school I pined after. We went to the same infants, same juniors, same secondary school. I never got her to talk.
Then when I was fourteen, I passed her in the school corridor and said ‘Good Morning Olwyn’. Her name sounds Welsh but she was from Southwick. She just looked at me and said ‘get lost you creep’.
I was devastated.
I had to sit for a full day in lessons before I could go home and put this song on.
I never saw her once I’d left school but I’m fifty-two now and still talking about her.”
