I’ve always loved singing. I’ve been in choirs all my life. For the past six or seven years I’ve been in an Acapella group that meets in Cleadon. I even go on singing holidays.
I love this particular song because it’s one of joy, you reach heaven and everything is there.
When my daughter was sixteen, I played it to her for the first time in the car. Soon, whenever we were driving she was bouncing up and down enjoying it.
When she was eighteen we had a short break in Berlin.
I was attending a Barbershop Harmony College, my first international event. In the evening there’s an ‘afterglow’ party where you all get together and sing to each other. I asked them to sing this to my daughter as a surprise. Sixty of us stood around her singing. Her face was a delight. You could see how much she enjoyed it.
