Brian: Cher, Gypsys, Tramps and Thieves
My sister worked for The Ropery. They’d have a yearly trip to Blackpool. We’d all go in a big coach for a day out. It was the early 1970’s. I was twelve. It was pitch black but the illuminations were on. It was Sunday and the Top Ten count down was on the radio and Gypy’s, Tramps and Thieves came on.
Every time I hear that song, I’m sitting on that coach, looking out the window, looking at all the lights. I’m took straight back to Blackpool.
